Indiana ![]() Indiana Borough site was selected April 11, 1804 by the Indiana County Trustees. George Clymer, signer of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States, donated 250 acres of land. The first sale of lots was December 10, 1805. The name of Indiana signifies, "Indian." The Post Office opened April 28, 1810 and John Denniston was the postmaster. Indiana borough was finally incorporated on March 12, 1816.
