East Mahoning
 East Mahoning Townhip was created by court action in 1846 when old Mahoning Township was divided into four parts; East, West, North and South. It was considered a particularly desirable location in the early days, as the soil was smoother and easier to clear than the rest of the land north of the Purchase Line. East Mahoning Township derives its name from the Mahoning Creek and Old Mahoning Township.
