![]() Cherryhill In 1854, Cherryhill Township was established from parts of Green and Brush Valley Townships. Cherryhill Township received its name from Cherryhill Manor, which was surveyed by the expedition of William Penn. William Penn's heirs later divided and sold the land into suitable parts. CHERRYHILL TOWNSHIP TODAY: Up until 1967 the township did not have a maintenance building for equipment. The equipment was stored at each supervisor's home. In 1967, the township purchased a garage and extra ground for storage of equipment and materials. The supervisors maintained this building until 1980, when the Penn's Manor School district donated the Penn Run Elementary School building to the Township for an office. A new maintenacne building was then built in 1981 for equipment. In September of 1981, the Township put a new roof on the Penn Run Elementary School building and continued to fix up the building. The Township was then able to build a pavilion through the use of approved grants. At the present time, the Cherryhill Township Municipal building is used as a community center. The Indiana county Head Start Program is provided to citizens in this building. The Boy Scouts have meetings two nights a week. The building is also available to rent for meetings, showers, reunions, and other events. Cherryhill Office Information
